A closer look at the cultures we make together.

United Culture Journal

Write for us

We welcome pitches that help readers understand how culture is made, shared and interpreted. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to see the subject, the approach and why it suits United Culture Journal.

What fits

We consider clear, original ideas about traditions, symbols, language, creative life and memory. Strong pitches focus on a specific question or example, give readers useful context and recognize that cultural meanings can vary and change.

What to include

Tell us the proposed subject, your central point, the intended reader and how you would handle context and factual accuracy. Mention any relevant experience or access that informs the proposal, without assuming it makes a perspective universal. A short outline is helpful; a finished draft is not needed for an initial pitch.

How to send a pitch

Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option, then identify your message as a pitch. Please send your own original proposal, note any existing publication or commitment, and do not include confidential material. Sending a proposal does not guarantee publication.

Our point of view

Culture is shared, and never still.

A custom can mean different things to different people. We look closely at the details, contexts and changes that make culture worth discussing.
